Hyundai DHY12500SE Backup Generator

The DHY12500SE is a diesel single-phase backup generator from Hyundai. Ideal for providing your home or business with reliable backup power when the national grid lets you down, this high-quality diesel genset is able to produce up to 12.5kVA.

This generator’s Hyundai twin cylinder air-cooled engine can produce up to 12.5kVA / 10kW backup power, perfect for your peace of mind that you won’t be without power, wifi and heating during a power cut.


Diesel Generator for Backup Power

Equipped with an AVR alternator, the DHY12500SE backup generator is suitable for powering sensitive electronic equipment in your home or business, such as televisions, games consoles, computers, laptops, and more.

The long run 60L base-mounted fuel tank will give up to 18 hours run time under ¼ load, meaning you won’t need to keep topping it up with fuel as often for fuss-free power.

Diesel generators are ideal for backup applications as sometimes petrol can go stale and prevent a generator working. Our diesel generators also run happily on budget-friendly red diesel, without voiding the warranty and making it cost-effective to refuel.


Quiet and Portable Generator

Thanks to the DHY12500SE’s engine operating at a low noise level within the sound attenuating enclosure, this diesel generator only emits a noise level of 70dB @ 7m whilst operating at a 75% load. This makes this a great option if you’re looking for a quiet standby generator that won’t interrupt you at home or work.

Mounted on 4 wheels, (2 steerings with brake and 2 fixed), it can be easily moved on a flat surface to wherever it is required.


ATS Compatible

For ultimate convenience, the DHY12500SE can be paired with an ATS - Automatic Transfer Switch - system (not included) which will automatically turn on the generator when a loss of power to the property is detected. When power returns from the mains, the ATS module will then safely turn your generator off.

This is ideal for those who need to guarantee constant power - for example, if you run servers or have refrigeration units.

It also has key start and two wire start options available, ideal for standby power in large homes or small businesses in the event of a power failure.


Easy-To-Read Control Panel

The control panel features a digital panel to display volts, hours and frequency. This generator also has 32A and 63amp sockets at 230v mains voltage, an emergency stop button, overload breakers, and a 12v DC output.


3000rpm Generator

3000rpm diesel generators are ideal for use as a standby/backup power in homes and small businesses. They are also suitable for use as standalone power in small workshops, farms or barns - when you need a few hours of power for tools or equipment.

Our 3000rpm gensets can also be used for mobile field repairs. If you work in agriculture or farming, these generators can fit in the back of a pick-up, and will run power tools and welders up to 150Amp to keep your farm machinery mobile and running without needing to take it back to the yard.

For more frequent use, or if running for extended periods of time every day (prime power) you should purchase a 1500rpm water-cooled, slow running generator that has a much longer lifespan.


Generator kVA Ratings

All of our single-phase generators have a kVA rating that is higher than the kW. This is because we have assumed the appliances you are going to power have a load factor/power factor of 0.8 - therefore the 'assumed' kVA rating of the load would be higher. This is industry standard and it is usually best to scope the right unit based on the kW.

Balgownie Ltd does NOT operate a "Try & Return" policy. Faulty goods should be notified to us as soon as possible. As a rule we do not collect goods from customers unless the fault occurs within the first 30 days, however we can arrange courier collection at your cost. We are under no obligation to accept returns of Non-Faulty goods after the 14 day cooling off period. Please note we are under no obligation to pay for the return of non faulty goods.

Returns of Non-Faulty goods within the 14-day cooling off period will be at the customers expense. Returned goods must be "As New", in complete re-saleable condition, including all manuals and loose items. (Excluding Special Order items, which are non-returnable for any reason.)

Spare Parts: Balgownie Ltd will attempt to source spare parts for customers on occasion. We can only do research with the information given by customers and for that reason Balgownie Ltd will not be held liable for any wrongly supplied parts whatsoever. All parts are researched and supplied on a best endeavours basis. Customers should note that we will do our best to supply parts based on information received. Except in instances of our breach of contract, Balgownie Ltd will not be liable for any return postage costs incurred if the parts turn out to be incorrect based on the customers description. These parts are subject the distance selling regulations, as above.

Swaps: Customers who order incorrect parts and subsequently send them back asking for them to be "swapped" for a different part will be charged carriage at the appropriate rate for the second delivery.

We ask that all packaging is kept for a time until you are satisfied with the item - packing will be essential for any return especially petrol powered products where a courier will not collect any unboxed item. We are unable to provide replacement boxes so please do keep the packaging.

It is your responsibility to fully inspect the item upon delivery before first use, that the item you have purchased is to your satisfaction and therefore fit for purpose. Should you notice a fault or defect with any product or find that there are missing components, please contact us immediately. Any claims for goods damaged on delivery should me made within 48 hours. We are unable to provide replacements for goods claimed to be damaged on delivery outside of this period. Failing to contact us at this early stage could affect your return/warranty entitlements.

Petrol powered machines should not be oiled or fuelled unless you intend to keep the item.

All returns must be returned in a re-saleable condition complete with all original packaging and labels, undamaged and unused. Please do not open any blister-packs unless you intend to keep the item. Should you wish to return a product, it must be in the original undamaged packaging.

Where you have failed to take reasonable care of the goods, whether whilst in your possession or when returning them, we reserve the right to deduct from the total any amounts due by way of compensation to either repair the goods or to cover any loss.

Customers who use the Royal Mail Collection Service do so at their own cost.

Returning large palletised goods: If for any reason an item that has arrived on a pallet e.g (Lawn Tractor / Ride-on / Dumper/ Cement Mixer) needs to be returned, the item must be placed on the original pallet (or a suitable other pallet) before a collection can be arranged. The customer is responsible for ensuring the goods are suitably palletised for the return. We are not able to provide replacement pallets or assist with re-palletising the product for its return journey. We suggest holding onto the pallet the product came on.

Items delivered or transferred to locations outside of the Mainland UK - we are unable to collect or send warranty replacement items to these locations (including Northern Ireland, Channels Islands). If you require warranty replacement parts you must return the defective item to us at your cost first, and carriage will be payable for the replacement item should it be warranty (or the cost of the item if it is not).
